Even after becoming the first player to swipe 50 bases and hit 50 homers, Shohei Ohtani is not showing any signs of slowing down. On the heels of an unbelievable hitting surge to end the season, the superstar is asserting that he is postseason-ready.
With his pair of RBI doubles against the Padres on Wednesday night, Ohtani logged his 124th and 125th RBIs of the season. On account of another wondrous night with runners in scoring position, Ohtani is 9-for-10 in over his last 10 RISP opportunities, an average that has not been seen in MLB for over 40 years.

"Shohei Ohtani of the @Dodgers is 9-for-10 (.900) with runners in scoring position over the last 7 days. That's the highest batting average with RISP by any MLB player over any 7-day span in the last 40 years (min. 10 AB)."- OptaSTATS
After logging two home runs and four RBIs in his team's recent series against the Colorado Rockies, Ohtani was back to work against the Padres. Ohtani now also leads the National League in home runs, RBIs, on-base percentage, OPS and plate appearances.
Ohtani's personal success over the recent past reflects the fortunes of his team, the Los Angeles Dodgers. Over the past 14 days, the Dodgers lead MLB in runs scored and rank second in number of home runs hit.
"Shohei Ohtani with another go-ahead hit! In other news, grass is green." - MLB
Against the Miami Marlins on Sept. 19, Ohtani went 6-for-6, clobbering two doubles, three home runs and 10 RBIs, alongside a pair of steals. Ohtani thus became the first player in MLB history to steal 50 bases while simultaneously connecting for 50 home runs in a single season.
Shohei Ohtani prepares to become postseason spectacle
For all of his incredible achievements in MLB, Shohei Ohtani has yet to compete in a postseason game. However, with the Dodgers qualified, it's only a matter of days before fans see Ohtani make his playoff debut. His teammate Max Muncy told MLB.com after Wednesday's win:
“He’s the best player in baseball, you never think he's gonna get out. Every time he gets in the box, you're just waiting for something incredible to happen, and he really doesn't disappoint too often."
As the Dodgers are on the cusp of locking down their division, everyone from Ohtani's teammates to fans around the world eagerly anticipate the beginning of the team's playoff run.
