Top MLB DFS Picks - July 19

Pitchers

Corbin Burnes ($9100 on DraftKings, $10700 in Fanduel)

Just days after becoming the first Baltimore Orioles pitcher to start an All-Star Game since 1980, Corbin Burnes is back in action as the O's take on the Rangers. For the former Cy Young winner, the sole outing of his career against Texas came on June 27, when he struck out five over seven innings, allowing just one earned run to get the win.

Gerrit Cole ($9000 on DraftKings, $9600 on Fanduel)

Nobody in the Bronx can say that Gerrit Cole has had a successful bout since returning from the IL last month. In five appearances thus far, Cole is 2-1 with a 5.40 ERA. However, the New York Yankees ace appears to have retained his ability to get strikeouts and has thus far fanned 26 batters in 23 innings.

Tonight, Cole will take on the Rays, against whom he owns 167 strikeouts in 19 career appearances.

Sean Manaea ($7600 on DraftKings, $8800 on Fanduel)

Sean Manaea is the likely starter for the Mets as they face the Miami Marlins in an NL East divisional clash on Friday. Manaea, 32, is having the best full season of his career. Now 6-3 with a 3.46 ERA, Manaea has allowed just four earned runs over his past 20 innings on the bump.

Top Hitters

Jarren Duran ($5600 on DraftKings, $3700 on Fanduel)

Jarren Duran's two-run home run stood up as the winning run for the American League in Tuesday's All-Star Game. However, the Boston Red Sox outfielder is also putting up a strong campaign for his club.

The 27-year-old's 10 triples lead MLB, and he has already set career highs in home runs and RBIs. On Friday, Duran will look to start the second half right against the Dodgers.

Brent Rooker ($5100 on DraftKings, $3600 on Fanduel)

Oakland Athletics outfielder Brent Rooker looks set to do what nobody expected and surpass the 30 home runs and 69 RBIs that he hit last season. In fact, over the two weeks preceding the All-Star break, Rooker's .525 OBP and 1.460 OPS lead the entire MLB.

Aaron Judge ($6400 on DraftKings, $4700 on Fanduel)

Yankees captain Aaron Judge remains the MLB leader in both home runs and RBIs, with 34 and 85, respectively. Although the Yankees have slid down the standings, Judge's bat is one of the team's biggest assets, and they will be hoping for some production in Friday's fixture against the Rays.

Budget Picks

Brandon Lowe ($4500 on DraftKings, $3000 on Fanduel)

Brandon Lowe's ninth home run of the season helped the Rays over the Guardians in a 2-0 victory last Sunday. While he won't match the 39 home runs that he hit in 2021, Lowe's .333 batting average thus far in July is a massive improvement over the .258 figure that he posted in June

Mike Yastrzemski ($4000 on DraftKings, $2400 on Fanduel)

San Francisco Giants outfielder Mike Yastrzemski will be back in action for the Giants' game against the Colorado Rockies on Friday. A .273 career hitter against the divisional foes, Yastrzemski has gone 11-for-29 over his past 12 games.

Xavier Edwards ($2900 on DraftKings, $2500 on Fanduel)

Although he is still searching for his first home run of the season, Marlins utility man Xavier Edwards has been swinging a hot bat since he arrived back from injury in June. Now a .352/.426/.426 hitter in 15 games this year, watch out for the MLB sophomore to make an impact against the Mets.
