Texas Rangers pitcher Jacob deGrom has been dominant in the spring. Before his start on Saturday, he made two starts in the spring, compiling ten strikeouts with a zero ERA. On Saturday, he threw 3.2 innings while striking out six batters and giving up zero runs.

He's one of the best pitchers in baseball when he's healthy, and he's showing just that. The Rangers hope for a monster year out of him on the mound.

However, the two-time Cy Young Award winner has struggled to stay on the field recently. He didn't make his debut with the New York Mets last season until August. He was dealing with a stress reaction in his scapula.

His injury history was a big reason why the Mets let him walk in free agency and signed Justin Verlander. But DeGrom is coming into the season healthier than he has been in quite a while, something opposing batters don't like to see.

"He's staying healthy this year and winning Cy Young," one fan tweeted.
"Can't wait for this baseball season," another fan tweeted.

Texas Rangers fans expect a huge year from Jacob deGrom to help make this team competitive. It's been rough for fans as the team hasn't had a winning record since 2016.

Jacob deGrom will be the Rangers' Opening Day starter. They open up the season on Thursday at home against the Philadelphia Phillies.

The Texas Rangers have the talent to be competitive this season. It all starts up in the middle with Corey Seager and Marcus Semien.

Seager is poised for a monster year with the new defensive shift restrictions. Last season, he was shifted on in 93% of his at-bats. Being one of the rare left-handed hitting shortstops, he still posted a .245 batting average.

Semien got off to a horrific start in 2022. He was uncomfortable at the plate, resulting in a .157 batting average in April last season. He turned it up soon after, slashing .248/.304/.429. Expect Semien to come out of the gate hot this season.

Alongside Seager and Semien, the Rangers also have Adolis Garcia, who has become an exciting outfielder to watch. The young slugger is developing into a promising star.

The Rangers have the talent to be a much better team this season. They'll be looking to make their first postseason appearance since 2016.
