Richard Pitino is the head coach of the New Mexico Lobos for the 2024–2025 season. Pitino was born in Boston, Massachusetts, and is in his fourth season with the Lobos. Prior to joining New Mexico, Pitino coached at Minnesota and FIU, where he earned over 200 career wins, an NIT Championship, and made three NCAA Tournament appearances by the age of 41. He also gained experience as an assistant coach at Louisville and Florida, helping teams achieve multiple NCAA appearances and conference titles.
