Poa transferred to Arizona State after three years (2022-2025) at LSU, where she helped the Tigers remain a national powerhouse in women’s college basketball. The guard averaged 3.5 points, 1.2 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 102 games played for the Tigers. Poa entered the transfer portal in April with one more year of eligibility.

Now at ASU, she’s bringing her experience, toughness and leadership to a program that is looking to climb the ranks in the Big 12. Last season, the Sun Devils finished 15th in the conference with a 10-22 record.

Junior guard Last-Tear Poa headed west to continue her college basketball journey after she committed to Arizona State University. The move was reported by On3’s Talia Goodman on April 20, marking a new chapter for Poa as she joins the Sun Devils.

Poa entered the transfer portal shortly after LSU’s season ended in a tough Elite Eight loss to UCLA in the NCAA Tournament. During her time in Baton Rouge, Poa appeared in a key supporting role. She started 15 games last season and logged 10 or more minutes in five of LSU’s six postseason matchups.

The 5-foot-11 guard was part of LSU’s 2023 national championship-winning team during her first year with the program. Poa earned a reputation as a steady ball-handler and facilitator in a star-studded lineup that included All-Americans Angel Reese and Aneesah Morrow, as well as standout Flau’Jae Johnson.

Now at Arizona State, Last-Tear Poa will team up with new coach Molly Miller, who is looking to turn the program around. The Sun Devils are coming off a challenging season, finishing with a 3-15 record in Big 12 play. The addition of Poa followed the arrival of former Penn State guard Gabby Elliott, as ASU aims to regroup after four players departed via the transfer portal.
