Kansas center Hunter Dickinson had a stellar 2023-24 season, although the Jayhawks fell short of their ultimate target of winning the national championship under coach Bill Self.

Off the court, the Kansas star is a known sneaker and style enthusiast, and when sneaker influencer K.O. recently posted a picture of a collection of McDonald's AE1s on Instagram, the Jayhawks center was immediately on the scene.

Dickinson reacted to the post on his Instagram stories with the caption:

"I need them McDonalds AE1s."

Will Hunter Dickinson return for an extra year?

After transferring from the Michigan Wolverines last year, Hunter Dickinson quickly became one of the most prolific centers in the country, alongside Purdue Boilermakers star Zach Edey.

Dickinson averaged 17.8 points on 54.8% shooting from the floor and 35.4% shooting from beyond the arc, 10.9 rebounds and 2.3 assists this past season.

Although he participated in the senior night festivities and even gave a speech, Dickinson admitted that he was unsure where his future lay at the time, choosing to focus on the season ahead instead.

“[I’m] more kind of just letting the season play out,” Dickinson said. “I’ve been fortunate to kind of go through this process where I don't know what I'm going to do for the last like four years now. So I'm kind of used to it.”

Even with his future still in limbo, Hunter Dickinson has expressed his enthusiasm for the recruits that the Jayhawks have brought in from the transfer portal and has been doing some cheeky recruitment of his own on social media.

He recently reacted to the news that Duke Blue Devils star Jeremy Roach had entered the transfer portal with a hilarious meme on X, falling just short of asking him to join Kansas.

“I’m super happy AJ was able to commit,” Dickinson said. “Same with Zeke (Mayo), same with Riley Kugel. Coach Self knows what he’s doing in the portal. I think he’s trying to assemble a really good team, so we’ll see.”

Dickinson also spoke to the Kansas Star about a decision on his future with the deadline looming.

“I’d like to get it done sooner rather than later, try to get it over with,” Dickinson said. “Work out, train, try to decide what I want to do for the next year, get better, hopefully. when asked what’s ahead on his schedule."

The Kansas center still has five days to make up his mind about his future, with the April 27 deadline looming and Jayhawks fans hoping that Hunter Dickinson decides to return for an extra year under coach Bill Self.
