Rylan Griffen is a guard for the Kansas Jayhawks, a team that competes in the Big 12 Conference of the NCAA Division I. The college basketball player is in his junior year, as of March 2025, according to his official roster. Griffen attended Richardson High School in Texas. During his high school days as a senior, he registered 20.6 points, and 4.4 rebounds including 3.0 assists and 1.7 steals on average. He was recognized as the District 7-6A Offensive MVP in the season. In his junior year, Griffen helped Richardson to the 6A state semifinals while averaging 22.0 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per contest. He ended his high school career by recording more than 2000 points and grabbed the No. 3 shooting guard spot and No. 49 overall player position in the 2022 season.

At Alabama in the 2022-23 season, Griffen appeared in 37 games as a freshman and averaged 5.9 points and 2.6 rebounds per contest. He registered a season-high 16 points twice against Liberty and at Auburn. While playing against Vanderbilt and at Oklahoma, he managed to bag a season-high seven rebounds two times in the season. As a sophomore, Griffen attended 36 contests and started in 33 of them on Alabama’s 2024 Final Four team. He scored 11.2 points, and 3.4 rebounds with 1.9 assists per game on average. He finished with scoring 10-plus points 18 times in the season. In addition, he recorded a career-high 21 points two times versus Missouri and at Kentucky. In the NCAA Tournament Elite Eight, Griffen bagged a career-high eight assists by winning against Clemson. He was honored with SEC Academic Honor in the 2024 season.
