After losing earlier in the competition, India and Australia squared off once again with stakes much higher than before at the 1983 World Cup in Chelmsford. Electing to bat first, Yashpal Sharma and Roger Binny made vital contributions to help India reach 247 all out in 55.5 overs.
Chasing the target, none of the Australian batsman could get going as Binny starred with the ball as well and they were eventually bundled out for 129 as India remained alive in the tournament.
