Dinesh Chandimal soon accompanied Dickwella at the crease and duo put on another century partnership. Dickwell was dismissed for 95 just falling short of his century. A cameo from Kusal Mendis who came in to bat at number 4 helped Sri Lanka post a total of 366/6 in their 50 overs.
England immediately felt the absence of their in-form opener, Jonny Bairstow. They found themselves struggling early in the innings at 28/4. England never managed to recover as they finished their innings at 132/9 in 26.1 overs (their target was revised to 352 due to D/L method).
Sri Lanka won the match by 219 runs (D/L method) and Niroshan Dickwella was named the man of the match due to his gutsy performance.

If ever given a chance to change a storyline, Sunil would have booked Roman Reigns to end The Undertaker’s WrestleMania streak instead of Brock Lesnar. According to him, The Tribal Chief needed the victory more than Brock Lesnar, as the latter was already an established performer when he defeated ‘Taker. He would’ve also made that as Taker’s final match.
