Ind vs Eng 2018: 2 Indian players who should have been picked for the remaining two Test matches against England

England v India: Specsavers 3rd Test - Day Five
England v India: Specsavers 3rd Test - Day Five

#2 Mohammed Siraj

England Lions v India A - Day Three
Mohammed Siraj

Mohammed Siraj is an extremely talented pacer who has been bowling consistently well in the domestic cricket. He was ignored by the selectors because India's bowling performance has been noteworthy in the ongoing Test series. In fact, the selectors added two new batsmen to the squad after dropping Murali Vijay and Kuldeep Yadav. Therefore, it suggests that the selectors are more worried about the batting unit than the bowling unit.

Meanwhile, pacer Shardul Thakur is the part of the Indian Test team. Thakur has not played any Test match in England yet. But given Siraj's impressive form in the domestic Cricket, he should have been picked ahead of Shardul Thakur. The 24- year bowler from Hyderabad has an awe-inspiring domestic cricket record. As a matter of fact, he has taken 57 wickets in just 15 first-class matches with a bowling average of 21.

Furthermore, he was the highest wicket-taker for Hyderabad in the 2016-17 Ranji Trophy season as he took 41 wickets in the season. He took the highest number of wickets in the Vijay Hazare Trophy this year. He had 23 wickets to his name in just 7 matches.

Siraj made his India debut against New Zealand in a T20I match. However, the pacer is still waiting for his maiden Test call. If Siraj continues his exceptional bowling form, he is not far away from getting his maiden Test cap.
