The Proteas superstar became the second batsman in the history of ODI cricket to achieve this record. Hashim Amla, one of the most prolific ODI cricketers of the modern era, has played 164 ODI games so far and scored 26 centuries.
He achieved the feat against Ireland in 2015. Amla struck a superb 159 off 128 balls at the Manuka Oval in Canberra during a World Cup game.
It was his first hundred against Ireland and 20th overall in ODI cricket. The 35-year-old is fifth on the list of most hundreds by a batsman in ODI cricket and could soon climb to the third spot with four more hundreds.
