The Player of the Tournament in India's victorious campaign in the 2011 World Cup, Yuvraj was used quite regularly at home by Dhoni as a bowler. He played as the fifth bowler in the 2011 World Cup and was a regular wicket-taker in the tournament. He has 111 ODI wickets to his name with 3 four-fers.

He is the third and the last Indian till date to achieve the rare feat of scoring a century and picking up 4 wickets in the same match. He did it against England at Indore in 2008 when he scored 118 off 122 balls. His innings included 15 fours and 2 huge sixes. His innings, accompanied by Yusuf Pathan's late blitz set England a target of 293.

Yuvraj was then surprisingly used ahead of lead spinner Harbhajan, owing to the number of right-handers in the English line up. The move worked wonders and Yuvraj picked the wickets of Matt Prior, Kevin Pietersen, Owais Shah and Andrew Flintoff, destroying the English middle order.

He finished with figures of 4/28 from his 10 overs at an economy of 2.8 in a match where the required rate was almost six. India won the game comfortably by 54 runs.
