#3 Sanath Jayasuriya

England v Sri Lanka - 1st ODI: Royal London One-Day Series
Sanath Jayasuriya's exploits helped Sri Lanka defeat Australia

During his stint, Sanath Jayasuriya was one of the most feared batsmen in the world. He put dagger in the heart of opposition, night in, night out and had a terrific hand-eye coordination. Jayasuriya was also a pretty good left arm orthodox bowler and picked up 323 wickets in 445 matches.

In the 6th ODI of the VB series in 2002-03, Australia won the toss and chose to field first. Sanath Jayasuriya then exploded for 122 off 105, with 12 fours and 4 sixes. The veteran opening duo of Jayasuriya and Atapattu added 237 runs for the opening wicket and Sri Lanka finished with 343-5 in 50 overs.

In return, Australia were looking good at 143-3 at one point of time but Jayasuriya spun a web around the Australian batsmen and picked up 4 wickets for 39 runs in his allotted 10 overs. Australia got all-out for 264 runs and suffered an embarrassing defeat.
