Cricket is a game of numbers and records. In the course of the beautiful game, several records are created and broken by cricketers. While many of those records are remembered by the cricket fans, there are some which are forgotten by a majority of them.

Everyone remembers Don Bradman's batting average of 99.94 in Test cricket; however, only a few remember Bapu Nadkarni's record of 21 successive maiden overs in Test cricket.

There are some unique records that are forgotten with time, while some records that do not put their holder in the best light.

Here are the five international cricket records that are remembered by very few fans:

Surprisingly, the record of being bowled most times in Test cricket is held by former Indian cricketer, Rahul Dravid. Although Dravid is hailed as the 'Wall' of Indian cricket, statistics show that he has been dismissed bowled for the most number of times in international cricket.

Dravid, in his 286 Test innings, was bowled out 55 times in his international career – 19.23% of his overall dismissals have been 'bowled out'.

Second in the list comes Sachin Tendulkar, who lacks behind his former teammate by just one dismissal. Allan Border (53) and Jacques Kallis (46) come third and fourth on the list.

Most would think that former Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi would hold this record. However, he loses out to Sri Lankan pacer, Lasith Malinga by just one golden duck in ODI cricket.

Malinga has 13 golden ducks to his name in the 50-over format, while Afridi has 12. However, Afridi beats Malinga by a fair margin if all the ducks in ODI cricket are brought into the picture.

In terms of golden ducks, Malinga and Afridi are followed by Muttiah Muralitharan (11), Javagal Srinath (11) and Moin Khan (11) in the list.

#3 Carrying the bat in T20Is

Chris Gayle has a plethora of records to his name, especially in the shortest format of the game
Chris Gayle has a plethora of records to his name, especially in the shortest format of the game

A batsman is said to carry the bat when he, as an opener, remains not out while the rest of his 10 teammates return to the pavilion. In more than 3000 Test matches, a batsman has carried his bat 53 times. Similarly, there are only 11 instances of a batsman carrying his bat in more than 2000 ODIs.

However, in T20 Internationals, only one player has managed to carry his bat till the end of his team's innings. The player is none other than 'The Universal Boss', Chris Gayle. Chris Gayle achieved this feat in the 2nd Semi-Final of 2009 ICC World Twenty20 against Sri Lanka, after he scored 63 runs out of the 101 total runs scored by the West Indies, without getting dismissed.

Unfortunately, none of his teammates could reach double figures in that game, due to which West Indies were bundled out for just 101 runs in their innings. Sri Lanka won the match by 57 runs.

Believe it or not, Kamran Akmal and Saeed Ajmal are the best WK/Bowler combination in T20Is. While Ajmal is not a surprising name at the summit of the list, Akmal, who is considered a limited wicket-keeper, has made it to there as well.

Statistically, Akmal has 15 dismissals to his name while keeping in overs bowled by Ajmal, which includes one caught-behind and 14 stumpings. The Akmal/Ajmal pair is followed by the pair of Mushfiqur Rahim and Shakib Al Hasan (14 dismissals).

MS Dhoni features in the list in the seventh position, behind Akmal, Rahim, Quinton de Kock, Dinesh Ramdin, and Mohammad Shahzad.

Even today, the record for most balls faced before getting out for a duck belongs to the Kiwi speedster. He was ultimately dismissed by Jacques Kallis in the innings. During Allott's presence on the crease, the Kiwis were able to add 32 vital runs to their total. New Zealand's Geoff Allott was out for a duck in a Test versus South Africa in Auckland in 1988/89. However, it was a record-breaking duck that lasted for 77 balls and 101 minutes.

His duck is considered as one of the most important ducks in Test cricket, as it was because of his effort that New Zealand finally managed to draw the game after South Africa enforced a follow-on.

Allott is followed on the list by James Anderson (55 balls) and Richard Ellison (52 balls).
