Ross Taylor is in the form of his life. In the previous year, the Kiwi star scored 639 runs in 11 matches at a breathtaking average of 91. The 34-year old has the second highest average in ODI cricket after the 2015 World Cup. The Wellington-born's ability to hold the innings together but still rotate the strike with consummate ease simply leaves the viewers wonderstruck. Taylor, however, suffered an injury while fielding in the last T20I against Sri Lanka but is likely to return in the first match of the India-NZ ODI series.

Ross Taylor, in this series, will look to achieve some approaching milestones. The right-handed batsman is just 294 runs away from surpassing Stephen Fleming and becoming the highest run-scorer for New Zealand in One Day Internationals. And with form on his side, it won't be really surprising if Taylor achieves this milestone. And if he scores another 50+ score at McLean Park on Wednesday, he will become the second batsman to score 7 consecutive 50+ scores in one-dayers.
