Centuries by wicket-keepers in the 4th innings of a Test match

Rishabh Pant scored his first century against England in the final day of the 5th Test at The Oval. He became the first Indian wicketkeeper-batsman to score a century in England and also the first Indian wicketkeeper-batsman to score a century in the 4th innings of a Test match.

#1 Adam Gilchrist - 149* vs Pakistan

Adam Gilchrist has the highest score by a wicketkeeper-batsman in the 4th innings of Test. He scored 149* against Pakistan on 22 November 1999 at Hobart in the second highest successful chase of 369 in Tests.

'Gilly' was one of the most accomplished wicketkeeper-batsman in cricket. He has the record of most dismissals by an Australian wicketkeeper in Tests and ODIs. He was in the winning squads of Australia for ICC World Cup 1999, 2003 and 2007. He was inducted into ICC Hall of Fame in 2013.


#2 Moin Khan - 117* vs Sri Lanka

Moin Khan is the only Pakistani wicketkeeper-batsman to score a century in the 4th innings of Test. He scored 117* against Sri Lanka on 26 September 1995 at Sialkot.

Moin Khan had a long cricket career of 14 years. He has the record of most stumpings by a Pakistani wicketkeeper. He is the head coach of Quetta Gladiators in the Pakistan Super League currently.

#3 Rishabh Pant - 114 vs England

Rishabh Pant is the 1st Indian wicketkeeper-batsman to score a century in England in Tests. He scored 114 against England on 11 September 2018 at London.

Rishabh Pant is a consistent performer in the domestic circuit. He represented India in the 2016 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. He made his Test debut on 18 August 2018 against England. He has the record for the highest score by any Indian in the Indian Premier League. He scored 128* against Sunrisers Hyderabad on 10 May 2018 at Delhi.


#4 Matt Prior - 110* vs New Zealand

Matt Prior is the second English wicketkeeper-batsman to score a century in the 4th innings in Tests. He scored 110* against New Zealand on 26 March 2013 at Auckland.

'Big Cheese' was one of the finest wicket-keepers from England. He scored 3920 runs in Tests. He was the 1st English wicketkeeper-batsman to score a century on Test debut. He has the record of the second highest dismissals by an English wicketkeeper.

#5 Alan Knott - 106* vs Australia

Alan Knott is the 1st wicketkeeper-batsman in the history to score a century in the 4th innings of a Test match. He scored 106* against Australia on 30 January 1975 at Adelaide.

'Knotty' was one of the most distinguished wicketkeeper-batsmen of his generation. He has the record of most dismissals by an English wicketkeeper in Tests. He has 250 dismissals in his Test career. He scored 4389 runs in Tests. He was inducted into ICC Hall of Fame in 2009.


#6 AB de Villiers - 103 vs India

AB de Villiers is the first South African wicketkeeper-batsman to score a century in the 4th innings of Test. He scored 103 against India on 22 December 2013 at Johannesburg.

'Mr.360' is one of the most loved cricketers in the world. He captained his team from 2011 until 2017. He gave up wicketkeeping in 2015. He scored 8127 runs in Tests with the highest score of 278* against Pakistan on 20 November 2010 at Abu Dhabi. He retired from international cricket in May 2018.


#7 Mushfiqur Rahim - 101 vs India

Mushfiqur Rahim is the only Bangladeshi wicketkeeper-batsman to score a century in the 4th innings of Test. He scored 101 against India on 21 January 2010 at Chittagong.

'Mushi' is one of the best wicket-keepers from Bangladesh. He knows how to handle the circumstances when the team is under pressure. He represented Bangladesh in the 2006 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. He has the record for most dismissals by a Bangladeshi wicket-keeper. He has scored 3490 runs in Tests till now. He also captained the Bangladesh Test team from 2011 until 2017.
