Bangladesh's star all-rounder, Shakib al Hasan, recently underwent a surgery on his finger, which he had injured during the Asia Cup.

A few days ago, he had said that the finger might not ever be the same again. However, he aims to make a quick return to the field and help his side.

"The infection is under control now. But, we need to test blood every week to see if any other problem arises. The good news is the injury can be healed without undergoing surgery. If I need any, that is not possible in 6 to 12 months. So, we have to wait and see what happens," he said after returning from Australia.

There is no time-frame to get out of this kind of injury. We have to be patient. Now, there is no pain in my hand, and I am feeling good. So, maybe I can play next month, or it might take a few months as well. The fact is that a deadline for my return is very uncertain. But, I am hoping that I can play next month," Shakib said.
