#9 Adil Rashid (4.5/10)

England v India: Specsavers 3rd Test - Day Five
England v India: Specsavers 3rd Test - Day Five

Adil Rashid was very ineffective with the ball in the first innings where he was neither able to contain the Indian batsmen nor was he able to create any wicket taking chances. Albeit, he did pick Virat Kohli's wicket, who had a momentary loss of concentration batting at 97. With the bat too, he couldn't provide any support to Jos Buttler getting out for 5 runs within 5 deliveries he faced.

However, his performance in the second innings was much better both with the ball and the bat. He was the pick of the bowlers in an otherwise disappointing performance with the figures of 27-2-101-3. Also, with the bat, he put up a strong resistance and remained not out at 33 after facing 64 deliveries.

#10 Stuart Broad (4/10)

Stuart Broad bowled reasonably well in the first innings, removing India's lower middle order, first by dismissing Rahane who had scored 81 runs by then and later removing Pant & Ashwin in quick succession. However, he also couldn't support Jos Buttler and was dismissed for a duck.

In the second innings, he couldn't make good use of the conditions and went wicketless in the 16 overs he bowled giving away 60 runs at an economy of 3.75. However, he tried reducing the deficit of loss as he scored 20 runs off 29 deliveries before being caught at second slip by KL Rahul.

#11 James Anderson (3.5/10)

England v India: Specsavers 3rd Test - Day Five

Overcast conditions, batsmen low on confidence; the stage was set for the English legend to put in another masterful spell of swing bowling. However, Indian batsmen put it in a spirited performance and made Anderson work hard for his wickets. He picked up 3 wickets in the first innings out of which two were No. 10 & 11 in Mohammed Shami & Jasprit Bumrah, the third one being Hardik Pandya.

In the second innings as well he could only manage one wicket of Rishabh Pant and was largely kept at bay by the Indian batsmen who played him with a lot of caution scoring only at 2.50 runs per over.
