Hameed averaged an impressive 43.60 against India
Haseeb Hameed was one opener who looked technically sound and had the temperament to succeed at the Test level for England in the last 6 years. In a tough assignment against India in a 5 match Test series, Hameed as a 19-year-old cricketer from Lancashire opened with Cook in the first Test at Rajkot.

In 6 innings against India, before getting injured, Hammed scored 219 runs at an average of 43.60 with two half-centuries to his credit. Hameed looked determined to bat for long at the crease and score as many runs as possible for England.
Unfortunately, an injury prevented Hameed from playing any further part in the Test series against India and since then he has struggled in county cricket.
Hameed is only 21 years of age and is definitely the future opener for England in Test cricket. The time is not far when Hammed will be seen wearing an English Test cap once again.
