An FIR has been lodged against one of Ravindra Jadeja’s maternal relatives, Kripalsinh Jadeja with regard to the six rounds of celebratory firing that was made during the wedding ceremony of the Indian all-rounder in Rajkot on 17 April 2016.
The 27-year-old who is currently playing for the Gujarat Lions in the on-going Indian Premier League got married to Riva Solanki, earlier this month. The high-profile marriage was, however, marred by controversies when one of Jadeja’s relatives fired six rounds of shots in the air from a pistol.

The entire incident was caught on camera which showed a man firing from a revolver as the bridegroom, Ravindra Jadeja was all smiles while being mounted on horseback amidst the celebratory procession.

Having said that, the Rajkot Rural Police are of the opinion that the entire incident happened inside a five-star hotel which is situated in the western part of the city. Also, they have claimed to be unsure about the number of shots that have been fired during the celebratory procession.
According to the Rajkot Rural SP Antarip Sood, “"We have received reports of celebratory firing at the wedding procession and we have asked Lodhikha police to conduct an inquiry and file a report. It was a private function and police were in the area merely to regulate traffic.”

“Nobody is allowed inside the hotel and the hotel has its private security. The firing took place during (the) wedding procession in the morning inside the hotel. We have not received any complaints so far. But we are conducting an inquiry,” M N Rana of Lodhika Tehsil Police Station was quoted as saying by New India Express.
He also said, “We had sought visuals and other videos related to the marriage from the Jadeja family and after examining them thoroughly we found that a person had opened fire in the air.”
“He is Kripalsinh Jadeja, a maternal relative of Ravindra Jadeja. We have lodged an FIR against him under IPC section 336 (act endangering life or personal safety of others) and section 30 of the Arms Act,” Rana added.
