Misses

Suresh Raina

Suresh Raina was bought in as a replacement for Ambati Rayudu after the latter flunked the yo-yo test, but he flattered to deceive in the opportunities that he got and it will be interesting to see what the management does in his case in the remaining series, later this year.

Yuzvendra Chahal

While Kuldeep Yadav hogged all the limelight in the ODIs, Yuzvendra Chahal had a quiet series with the ball. claiming a mere two wickets, and with the next limited-overs series still a couple of months away, it will be interesting to see the work he puts in to get his rhythm back.

Umesh Yadav

The fast bowler who had such a good outing in the T20Is, failed to deliver in the 50-over format, proving to be ineffective both with the new ball as well as at the end of the innings only to be benched for the final match at Headingley.

Ben Stokes

The series was a comeback of sorts for Ben Stokes from injury and after a slow half-century in the first game, he just could not get going in the remaining matches, with the bat or with the ball.

Hardik Pandya

The all-rounder had a series to forget, neither getting the runs with the bat in the two opportunities that he got nor delivering as the third seamer, with the ball.
