England beat Sri Lanka by 10 runs in their Group 1 match at New Delhi. With this win, England joins New Zealand and West Indies in the semi-finals of the World T20. On the other hand, the defending champions Sri Lanka, along with South Africa were knocked out of the World T20.

Skipper Angelo Mathews, along with Chamara Kapugedera, Thisara Perera and Dasun Shanaka brought his team back in the chase. But his unbeaten 73 was not enough for Sri Lanka to beat England.
