Arshad Ayub with the ball in hand
Arshad Ayub was a off spinner hailing from Hyderabad who was also a part of Sachin's debut match. In his short career, he played 13 Tests and 22 ODIs and picked up 41 and 31 wickets respectively. His First Class record was incredible and that's what earned him his place in the Indian setup. He wasn't a total sluch with the bat and has played few useful cameos.
In that match, he went wicketless in both the innings after being dismissed for 1 in the 1st innings. He never formally announced retirement but last played an international game in 1990. He founded the Arshad Ayub Cricket Academy, which has unearthed many young talents in Andhra Pradesh and Telengana. The off spinner was known for his performance against the West Indies in 1987-88 series. He is also the President of the Hyderabad Cricket Association.
