India vs Australia - 2nd T20I: Player Ratings

India beat Australia by 27 runs
India beat Australia by 27 runs

Australia:

Aaron Finch was exceptional with the bat today.

Aaron Finch 7.5

The Aussie skipper was the lone warrior with the bat for Australia as he scored a fighting 48-ball 74 at the top of the order in spite of nursing a hamstring injury. As a captain, he failed to rotate his bowlers well.

Shaun Marsh 5.5

Shaun Marsh was involved in a 94-run partnership for the opening wicket with Finch and his contribution was just a run-a-ball 23. He looked off-colour in his knock before holing out to Hardik Pandya at long-on off Ashwin.

Chris Lynn 1

Chris Lynn might have come into the series after a good performance at the recently concluded BBL, but he failed to live up to those expectations. Once again, he disappointed, as he scored just 2 off 4 balls before top-edging Hardik Pandya straight to the hands of MS Dhoni.

Glenn Maxwell 2

Though he took the important wicket of Shikhar Dhawan, his main role was to score runs with the bat, which he failed to do. He got out in his second ball to Yuvraj Singh, courtesy a flashy stumping from MS Dhoni.

Shane Watson 4.5

Watson did a decent job with the ball as he conceded just 17 runs in 3 overs, but with the bat, he failed to make much of an impact. He got out for 15 off 11 balls and got out to a stunning return catch by Jadeja.

Matthew Wade 4

His unbeaten 16 off 15 balls is not enough to push Australia to victory in the last few overs.

James Faulkner 3

James Faulkner failed to impress with both bat and ball as he went for 35 runs off 3 overs and got out for 10 off 7 balls in an unlucky manner.

John Hastings 3

Hastings is no different from Faulkner as he too went for 35 runs off 3 overs. He failed to apply pressure early on in the innings and that led Rohit and Dhawan to lay a solid platform. With the bat, he couldn’t do much.

Andrew Tye 6.5

The debutant from Perth had a sensational day with the ball as he managed to keep Rohit, Dhawan and Kohli at bay. When the Indians were going at 9.5 runs per over, Tye gave away just 28 runs off 4 overs with an economy of 7.

Scott Boland 6.5

Just like Andrew Tye, Scott Boland had a memorable debut with the ball. He was impressive early on and kept on applying pressure on the batsmen by varying his pace and length. He conceded 30 in his 4 overs.

Nathan Lyon 1

Not a debut to remember for Nathan Lyon as he gave away 15 runs in the only over he bowled.
