After a gruelling and hard-fought series, India reclaimed the Border-Gavaskar series in style after defeating Australia by 8 wickets in the fourth and final Test at the HPCA stadium in Dharamsala. However, India’s stand-in captain Ajinkya Rahane came out with an attacking mindset and brilliantly counter-attacked the Australian batting line-up with a quick-fire knock of 38 in 27 deliveries with four fours and two sixes to his name. India finally achieved the target in the 24th over just before lunch.

Author’s Take

It’s a great move by the BCCI to incentivise the cricketers after a hard-fought series win against their bitter rivals. After an extremely tiring season which began with the tour against West Indies back in July to the recently concluded series against Australia, it was a good decision by the cricket board to reward the players for their hard work and success over the past 9 months.
