Categories of players for RTM cards: Two overseas players, two uncapped Indian players.

Players eligible for RTM: Baba Aparajith, Dwayne Bravo, Faf du Plessis, Ishwar Pandey, Brendon McCullum, Ronit More, Dwayne Smith and Andrew Tye.

Since Chennai Super Kings were suspended for the last two IPLs due to their owner's involvement in IPL spot-fixing, the franchise are allowed to retain the players who played for them in the 2015 edition and then played for either Rising Pune Supergiant or Gujarat Lions in the 2016 and 2017 edition.
