Jos Buttler’s controversial run-out is not first case since Mankading rule were introduced in cricket. In Commenwealth Bank series in 2012, Lahiru Thirimanne, according to the new rule of running out the batsman (mankading), should have been out when he took a start at the non-strkers end and Aswin swiftly removed the bails and appealed for the run out.
However umpires didn’t give it out directly and consluted India's most senior bastman Sachin Tendulkar and skipper Sehwag , and they decided to withdraw from the appeal in the spirit of the game.
