[In Pictures] Shubman Gill takes part in intense training session ahead of IND vs PAK 2023 World Cup clash in Ahmedabad

Team India opener Shubman Gill recently joined the team camp in Ahmedabad and has trained intensely in the nets ahead of the match against Pakistan. The two neighboring nations will lock horns in the much-anticipated clash on Saturday (October 14) at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

Gill has missed the first two games of India in the World Cup due to dengue fever. He received treatment in Chennai and then took some time to recover before rejoining the Indian contingent in Ahmedabad.

Ishan Kishan has filled for him in those games by partnering with Rohit Sharma at the top order.

International Cricket Council (ICC) took to their official Instagram handle and shared a couple of pictures from India's practice session on the eve of the match against Pakistan. Gill can be seen in great spirits and practicing in the net sessions.

"We'll see tomorrow about that" - Rohit Sharma hints at Shubman Gill's inclusion in the side for IND vs PAK 2023 World Cup clash

At a pre-match press conference on Friday, Rohit Sharma gave the good news to the Indian fans by revealing that Shubman Gill is 99% available for selection for the upcoming game.

"99 percent he (Shubman Gill) is available. We'll see tomorrow (Saturday) about that," he said.

Sharma opted to keep his cards close to his chest as he did not reveal much about the team composition. When asked about the Indian team's combination for the match against Pakistan, he said:

"I don’t know. I still haven’t looked at the pitch yet, but we are ready for whatever combination we want to play. That’s the challenge for us, going forward as a team. The guys have been informed very well in advance about changes. I don’t think there are going to be any issues with the players. If the requirement is there for us to play three spinners, we will play three spinners."

On the dew factor, Sharma added:

“Honestly, I don't know how much of a factor it is going to be. In Delhi, we were expecting dew to come in; it didn’t come. In Chennai also, it was after probably 30 overs. So, you are done with 75 percent of the game by then."
