Angkrish Raghuvanshi came up with a hilarious quip during the toss in a Mumbai T20 League 2025 match between the Aakash Tigers MWS and SoBo Mumbai Falcons on Sunday, May 8, at the Wankhede Stadium.

Angkrish Raghuvanshi was leading the SoBo Mumbai Falcons. During the toss, Raghuvanshi, who was naming the playing XI, referred to Shreyas Iyer as 'Sarpanch saab'.

"Kush Kariya goes out, Amogh Bhatkal comes in and our Sarpanch saab is the impact player today," he said with a smile on his face.

The tag 'Sarpanch saab' was given to Shreyas Iyer during the recently concluded Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season. Shreyas was the captain of the Punjab Kings (PBKS) and led them to the final, where they lost to Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), falling short of their maiden IPL title.

Meanwhile, Raghuvanshi was a part of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), who failed to make it to the playoffs.

Angkrish Raghuvanshi won the toss and opted to bowl first in their T20 Mumbai League 2025 match. Batting first, Aakash Tigers MWS could only put 136/9 on the board from their 20 overs.

Opening the batting for SoBo Mumbai Falcons during the run chase, Angkrish Raghuvanshi and Ishan Mulchandani added 99 runs for the first wicket, getting the team off to a solid start. Raghuvanshi scored 41 runs off as many balls, hitting four boundaries in his knock.

Shreyas Iyer, who walked out to bat at number three, could not make much impact in this game. The right-hander scored just 11 runs from as many balls, hitting a six during his short stay at the crease.

However, SoBo Mumbai Falcons got over the line easily in the end. They achieved the target in 18.4 overs to win the game by five wickets.
