Former Team India Test opener Abhinav Mukund responded after a fan expressed displeasure over the 'Indian-centric' broadcast during the ongoing World Test Championship (WTC 2025) Final between South Africa and Australia. The particular fan's comments came before the start of play on Day 3.

He shared a clip of Star Sports showing India's practice session in England for the upcoming Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy Test series. The fan seemed unhappy with India getting the limelight over the WTC 2025 final.

Responding to the social media post, Mukund, who hosted the segment, clarified that the broadcast focussed on India's intrasquad match for just three minutes in of the 20-minute show.

The fan wrote on X:

"Switched on TV for an exciting Day-3 of Aus vs SA. The only Protean in the frame is Morne Morkel. The economics for Red ball cricket is so tilted towards Indian audiences Frames: Star Sports."

Giving a clarification over the criticism, Mukund replied:

"Hello Kartik, I was the one presenting the show. Yes, you are right, it is an Indian-centric broadcast with an eye on the tour of England. But there was Dale Steyn and Sanjay Bangar and out of the 20 minutes we had in the buildup only 3 minutes were about India's tour game. So please mention the right facts. Thank you."

The five-match Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy Test series between India and England is set to kick off at Headingley, Leeds, on June 20. The visitors will prepare for the grueling series with an intra-squad match in Kent from June 13 to 16.

Mitchell Starc's gutsy batting helps Australia swell lead past 250 in SA vs AUS 2025 WTC final

Australia finished 144/8 in their second innings at the stumps on Day 2 of the ongoing WTC 2025 final at Lord's, London. Mitchell Starc and Nathan Lyon remained unbeaten on 16 and 1, respectively, with Australia claiming a 218-run lead.

South Africa's pace spearhead Kagiso Rabada dismissed Lyon in the third over of Day 3. However, Starc kept his team's hopes alive with a clutch knock.

At the time of writing, the lower-order batter is at the crease on 44 off 108 balls. Australia are 186/9 in 59 overs, leading South Africa by 260 runs.
