2002 ICC Champions Trophy: Sehwag ended the tournament as the leading run-scorer with 271 runs in five innings at an average of 91 and a strike-rate of over 120 which included a century and a fifty. Adding to this, he also picked up three wickets at an average of 38.

2007 World T20: Throughout the tournament, Sehwag did his job to perfection. He didn't care about the conditions or the bowlers, taking India off to flying starts in almost all the games he played. Unfortunately, he missed the final due to an injury.

2011 World Cup: During the 2011 World Cup, Sehwag set a trend by hitting the first ball of the Indian innings in almost all the matches to the boundary. He gave his side a great start in all the matches barring the finals and scored 380 runs at an average of 47.5 and strike-rate of 122 in the tournament.
