The first ODI of the five-match series between India and Australia happened on Saturday. Australia posted a modest total on the board.India was struggling at one stage on a tricky wicket. Thanks to an excellent partnership from Kedar Jadhav and MS Dhoni ensured India go 1-0 up in the five-match ODI series. Indian middle order coming on top is icing on the cake as India mostly rely on the top three batsmen.There has been much debate going about ODI cricket format. Some feel it’s too long and some suggested to 40 overs game instead of 50 overs.Even Indian cricket legend once suggested that ODI cricket should follow the Test cricket format with teams playing two innings 20 overs each to bring the more interest.Unlike Tests and T20s, ODI cricket doesn't draw the interest of people. Mostly you will see empty stadiums during the bilateral ODI series.Only during the big tournaments like World cup or Champions trophy we could see the considerable interest from the people. The ICC trying to their best to keep the present ODI format alive.After the 2019 World Cup, ICC has announced an ODI cricket league where each team will play each other in a three-match ODI series in home and away bases over a period of three years. Top teams with the most points will qualify for the 2023 World cup which is set to be held in India.Former Indian cricketer and commentator Sanjay Manjrekar has been vocal about his opinions and never shies away to say what he feels.At times it doesn't go well among fans. Now, he has questioned the time span of ODI cricket, as he felt that an innings is 10 overs too long during first ODI of India vs Australia series.As soon as he tweeted fans jumped at him and started criticizing his view.
