Team News

South African Team

Dale Steyn is back from injury though how effective he will be throughout the tournament remains to be seen. He will lead the pace attack along with the impressive Kagiso Rabada while Imran Tahir will be their most potent wicket-taking option. Hashim Amla made his case for selection in the playing eleven with his unbeaten 97 against Australia last time out and it will be interesting to see how the Proteas line-up.

England Team

The absence of Steven Finn due to injury is a big blow no doubt, but New Zealand’s victory over India will give England plenty of hope with the spin duo of Adil Rashid and Moeen Ali expected to play a big part in the tournament. The batting looks explosive as well with Alex Hales and Jos Buttler in splendid touch. Not to forget the all-round abilities of Ben Stokes as well.

The last time South Africa played at the Wankhede, they ended up scoring a mammoth 438 runs in the ODI against India. They overcame the same opposition at this same venue in a T20 warm-up game just a few days earlier.
