SRH vs MI Match Prediction: Who will win today's battle between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians, IPL 2016, Match 12

Mumbai Indians will meet the Sunrisers Hyderabad at 8pm tonight. The game will be contested in Sunrisers' home ground, Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium. The head to head record shows that Mumbai Indians have outclassed the Sunrisers thrice, out of the six times they have met, MI has won 4, SRH has won just 2. Both teams have given underwhelming performances till now and its high time they redeem themselves. Mumbai went down to the Gujarat Lions couple of nights back and the Sunrisers were thumped by KKR in their own den on Saturday.

Venue: Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, Hyderabad

A good batting deck predicted and it should be on similar lines with the one seen in the last game on Saturday. We will wait and watch whether dew comes into play later in the game.

If Mumbai Indians bat first

Predicted score: 170 and above

Expect a lot of fireworks if Martin Guptill plays tonight. He might open the innings with Parthiv Patel and Rohit Sharma might bat in the middle order. A score of 50 in the powerplays is a given, if Guptill strikes it big with the likes of Patel and Sharma.

If Mumbai can reach around 80 in the first 10 overs then they should get 90 runs at least in the back ten. We might see the explosive Corey Anderson in action tonight and it will be exciting to see how many he can get with Pollard, the Pandya brothers and Rayudu for the company.

The bowlers have to be on the money initially against the likes of Warner, Dhawan, Henriques and Morgan. They should try to get 5 wickets in the first 13 overs of the innings. McCleneghan has been outstanding with the ball with compatriot Tim Southee playing a vital role too. Krunal Pandya, Hardik’s elder brother, had an excellent match against Gujarat and more of the same will be expected from him. He along with senior pro, Harbhajan Singh, can put the brakes on the score and those two might just get some vital wickets in the middle. Expect at least 3 wickets from these two spinners tonight. Mumbai might just get the better of Hyderabad by 15 or more runs if they bat first.

If the Sunrisers bat first

Predicted score: 150 and above

Warner and Morgan have to score 60% to 70% of the team total if Sunrisers need to stay in the game. Shikhar Dhawan has been in woeful form and he needs to get his act together quickly. Moises Henriques, Deepak Hooda and Naman Ojha need to score at least 80 runs between them to make it easy for the rest of the batters.

Bowling looked ordinary in the last couple of games with only Mustafizur looking like someone who can get a wicket everytime he comes to bowl. Barinder Sran and Bhuvneshwar Kumar have to lift their game quickly as time is running out the Sunrisers. They would need at least a couple of Mumbai wickets in the powerplays to stay in the game.

Karn Sharma also needs to pick his game and his variations could be handy tonight. The good news for Hyderabad is that the Mumbai batting has flattered to deceive in this tournament and if the Sunrisers have the right strategies in place then they can reap the rewards tonight.
