The Ashes 2013: England announce 14-man squad for third Test

England v Australia: 2nd Investec Ashes Test - Day Four

Having taken a 2-0 lead in the ongoing Ashes series, England have announced a 14-man squad for the third Test which will be played at Old Trafford from August 1 to August 5.

Three new faces have been included in the squad - Chris Tremlett, Monty Panesar and James Taylor – whereas Steve Finn has been dropped. The inclusion of an extra spinner will definitely worry the Australians, who have some major problems facing spin bowling.

The rest of the squad remains unchanged, which comes as no surprise considering the fact that the team has been very clinical so far, and most players have put in solid performances.

Squad: Alastair Cook (c); James Anderson; Jonny Bairstow; Ian Bell; Tim Bresnan; Stuart Broad; Monty Panesar; Kevin Pietersen; Matt Prior (wk); Joe Root; Graeme Swann; James Taylor; Chris Tremlett; Jonathan Trott
