The auction of the T20 Mumbai League to be held today

What’s the story?

The organisers of the inaugural edition of the T20 Mumbai League announced on Facebook that the auction for the tournament would be held today at 2pm. A total of six teams will be taking part in the competition and the owners of all six teams have already been announced.

In case you did not know

The T20 Mumbai League will be held from 11th March and will conclude on 21st March. A few weeks back, Probability Sports India Private Limited, the organisers of the league had invited bids for the parties interested in owning the six teams. The owners were announced yesterday by a media release.

Sachin Tendulkar was named as the league’s brand ambassador.

The heart of the matter

The League will be held across 10 days till 21st March. The matches will be held at the Wankhede Stadium. Brand Ambassador Sachin Tendulkar himself has stated that the tournament will be a good platform for budding cricketers from Maharashtra.

The owners of the six teams are:

Mumbai North: Sandipkumar Gupta / Ajdipkumar Gupta / Sanraj Hotels & Resorts Private Limited

Mumbai North-West: Radius Developers - Sanjay Chhabria

Mumbai North-East: Transcon Developers

Mumbai North-Central: PK Hospitality + Sangam + Rudrakh

Mumbai South-Central: Jupiter City

Mumbai South: Star Connect

The T20 Mumbai League is definitely a very good platform for young Maharashtrian cricketers to showcase their talent. Today, they might be playing in the T20 Mumbai League but provided they perform brilliantly, they could play in next year’s IPL and a few years later, maybe for the Indian Team.
