Mahela Jayawardene and Kumar Sangakkara were the pillars of the Sri Lankan batting line-up in the 2000s. Both tasted remarkable success at home across all the opponents.

In Sri Lanka, there are only three or four active cricket stadiums that host Test matches. One of them is the Sinhalese Sports Club stadium in Colombo.

It is here where Mahela Jayawardene holds the record of scoring the most number of Test runs in a single venue. Out of 27 Tests, Jayawardene scored 2921 runs at a stupendous average of 74.89. It is at this ground where he scored his highest Test score of 374.

Notably, he also holds the second position by scoring 2382 runs at the Galle International Stadium.
