It brings together lots of moments where someone is happy and someone gets disappointed, someone smiles whereas someone cries; but at the end it results in a fruitful game for its lovers as every moment is a suspense. Every player gives his 100% while playing, but sometimes they have to play under pressure which could deteriorate their game. We all have noticed several incidents where someone has to cry on his loss while others smile for their victory.

5. Sreesanth cries in an IPL match

The incident took place in the first edition of IPL during the match between Kings XI Punjab and Mumbai Indians. Sreesanth, who was playing for Kings XI, was slapped by ‘The Turbanator’ Harbhajan Singh after the match.

The incident occurred when the players of the two teams ‘greeted’ one another after Punjab beat Mumbai in a close match; Mumbai were led by Harbhajan. After this incident, Bhajji was banned for the rest of the season, and was also fined 100 per cent match fees from that IPL match. It was said that Sreesanth had taunted Harbhajan after Mumbai lost the match.

4. Vinod Kambli in tears after losing in the semi-finals of World Cup 1996

This was really a heart breaking, emotional and sad moment for all Indian cricket fans. Indian team, after defeating Pakistan in the quarters of the 1996 World Cup, were up against Sri Lanka in the semifinals.

Angered by an Indian collapse of seven wickets for 22 runs, after India were on course at 98 for 1 chasing 252, some sections of the Eden Gardens crowd threw bottles on to the outfield and set fire to the seating. Match referee Clive Lloyd took the teams off for 15 minutes, attempted a restart and then awarded Sri Lanka the game by default.

Vinod Kambli, who walked in at No. 5, had watched partners walk in and leave, after being unable to come to grips with the vicious turn that the Sri Lankan spinners were extracting from the mud-cake pitch. Walking off the field after the result was decided, Kambli couldn’t contain himself and started crying. Kambli’s tears symbolised both the anguish and the shame.

3. Bangladesh team cries after losing in final of Asia Cup 2012

It was a historic moment when Bangladesh reached the finals of the Asia Cup in March 2012. Bangladesh, who reached the final for the first time and very nearly upstaged their fancied opponents in a tournament in which they upset world champions India and Sri Lanka, lost the final match by just two runs in a nail-biting encounter against Pakistan.

Disappointed Bangladeshi players shed tears on the field while fans were equally heart-broken after the nerve-racking contest. Bangladesh, who were so close in writing the most beautiful chapter in the history of cricket, ended the tournament with a defeat but won the hearts of millions.

2. Yuvraj Singh has tears in his eyes after fighting cancer

Yuvraj Singh, the champion who defeated the mighty cancer and made a strong comeback in September 2012, was in tears in his first match after cancer against New Zealand.

Yuvi, who played a vital role in India’s World Cup 2011 triumph, made a comeback to the national side after battling cancer, and revealed that he had tears in his eyes while he was on the field during the second T20 between India and New Zealand at M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

This indeed made him feel elated, while his eyes were filled with tears, when he was fielding at the start of the innings.

“I am happy, extremely happy. There were a few tears when I was fielding at the start of the first over. Thankfully, the camera did not catch it”, he said after the match.

1. When the whole country cried – Tears of joy among Indian players after winning World Cup 2011

2nd April 2011, the historic day which no Indian will ever forget in their entire life. What a day in the history of Indian cricket! India won the World Cup 2011. Indian regained the coveted World Cup after 28 years as they suppressed Sri Lanka with a six-wicket victory in a nerve-wrecking final to script a glorious new chapter in their cricketing history.

The jam-packed crowd at the Wankhede stadium erupted in wild celebrations as Dhoni hit the winning six runs to give India their biggest cricketing moment and crown themselves the ODI world champions. The players, many of them with tears in their eyes, rushed to the ground to hug each other. This World Cup win was also very very special for the Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar, since it was the only silverware missing from his collection.

When the whole India was celebrating with joy and firing crackers after the T-20 World Cup win in 2007, there was a guy who was crying with his head down. He was the Pakistan’s middle order batsman Misbah ul Haq. Misbah, after hitting a pathetic shot off the bowling of Joginder Sharma, was caught by Sreesanth on fine leg.
