Virat Kohli’s three exceptional catches was a crucial talking point

India finally managed to record their first victory of the Gandhi-Mandela series by beating South Africa in the 2nd ODI at Indore. India comprehensively scored a 22-run win, courtesy an all-rounder performance from the team. Mahendra Singh Dhoni silenced his critics with his composed knock of 92, which pushed India to a competitive score of 247, before the bowlers defended the total.

An integral aspect of India’s victory was the fielding. They say Catches win Matches for the team. His first catch to dismiss the well-set Faf du Plessis was perfectly timed. He went on to take two more catches, that of AB de Villiers’ and Dale Steyn’s. But his catch to dismiss Proteas skipper AB was the best of the lot. Kohli dived full-length to his left and took a stunning catch to send the World’s best batsman back in the pavillion. His final catch was equally good to dismiss the bowler Dale Steyn.
