India will take on New Zealand in the upcoming five-match ODI series followed by a three-match T20I series. After winning the series against Australia, India go into the series high on confidence. On the other hand, New Zealand would like to continue their home dominance. Smaller grounds and powerful hitters make this series a must-watch encounter.

This will be India's second-last series before the World Cup. Hence, they would like to finalize the team combination ahead of the showpiece event. So, we could see a lot of changes in the Indian team, as well as in the New Zealand team.

The last time India toured New Zealand under Dhoni's captaincy, they lost the series 4-0. However, it was one of the most entertaining series India has ever played on foreign soil. India lost the first two ODIs and they went to Auckland to play the third ODI.

India won the toss and elected to field first. The home team lost the first wicket for 36 runs on the board. Kane Williamson and Martin Guptill added 163 runs for the second wicket. Kane made 65 runs, and Guptill went on to score a century. A late flourish from Ronchi and Southee helped them post 314 runs on the board.

The Indian openers gave India a decent start in the 315-run chase. They added 64 runs for the first wicket. Once they lost the first wicket, the collapse began as India lost four wickets for 79 runs on the board. Raina and Dhoni had a decent partnership and took the team score to 146 before Raina got out for 31 runs. Dhoni scored a half-century and India were pushed to 184/6.

The Indian captain got out after scoring the half-century. When Dhoni got out, India's required run-rate was 9+ runs in an over with 14 overs remaining in the game. Jadeja joined Ashwin for the seventh wicket. Jaddu played one of his best ODI innings and Ashwin played his part from the other side.

Ashwin's fighting innings came to an end when India's score was 269/7. Jadeja made sure the game went into the last over. India had to score 18 runs in last six balls. Jadeja had to finish the game only with boundaries as he couldn't give the strike to number 11. He smashed the first ball over mid-wicket for a four. Corey then followed up with two dot balls and two wides which pushed the target to 12 runs in 3 balls. Jadeja flicked the fourth ball for a four and smashed the fifth ball for a six. It was an unbelievable scene at Auckland. However, Jaddu could manage only a single on the final ball and the game eventually ended in a tie.

Indian fans won't forget this match, and the innings from Jaddu deserved a victory. He was rightly awarded the Man of the Match for his efforts.
