Jofra Archer delivered a superb bowling performance to take 3-27 against South-Africa in Thursday’s World Cup 2019 opening match.

Archer played his first World Cup match for his adopted country. Having been born in the West Indies, he moved to England in 2016 and qualified earlier in 2019 to play for them. While England picked the pace-man for the ODI series against Pakistan in May, Thursday’s World Cup match was his first standout performance.

In his second over, he bowled a bouncer which crashed into Hashim Amla’s helmet, and the batsman went off for a concussion test. This ball had cricket fans excited about his obvious talent.

There are a few aspects which make Archer a dangerous bowler. He has good control with the new ball. He boasts deceptive pace, jogging to the crease like a medium-pacer but still bowling 145kmph. This is coupled with extra bounce.

Archer can be the X-factor for England in their World Cup 2019 campaign.
