The bowlers did not allow the batsmen to cross the 400-run mark even once in the 12th edition of ICC Cricket World Cup which shows that the bowlers had a great tournament. India’s top pacer, Jasprit Bumrah, emerged as the star bowler of his side at the mega-event.

Jasprit Bumrah, currently the number 1 bowler in the ICC Rankings proved to be a very handy bowler for skipper Virat Kohli. The star bowler bowled the most number of maiden overs (9) in the tournament. He even scalped 18 wickets throughout and his maiden overs kept a check on the run flow.

The second best bowler in this category, Jofra Archer had bowled 8 maiden overs in 11 matches.

The player who won the hearts of the entire world with his terrific form throughout the event, Shakib Al Hasan was the backbone of his side in World Cup. He tried his best to take his team to the next round but did not get much support from his teammates.

With his marvelous display of batting, Shakib topped the list of batsmen with the highest batting average in the tournament. He smashed 606 runs at a sparkling average of 86.57 in just 8 matches. Shakib was just 43 runs short of becoming the leading run-scorer of the tournament. Apart from this, he even had a convincing form with the ball as he bagged 11 wickets, including 1 five-wicket-haul.

David Warner carried brilliant IPL form into the World Cup 2019. After being the leading run-scorer of IPL 2019, Warner maintained his thundering form at the mega-event. No cricket fan could believe that the left-handed batsman had not played an international match for over a year.

Warner topped the list of highest individual run-scorer of the tournament thanks to his mind-blowing innings against Bangladesh. The Pocket Dynamo scored 166 runs on the board in just 147 deliveries, by hammering the ball all around the ground. He batted at a strike-rate of 112.93 which showed his hunger for runs.

The batsman with the 2nd best individual score, Jason Roy too recorded his score of 153 against Bangladesh.

The left-arm fast bowler from Australia Mitchell Starc continued his good form at ICC World Cups with a mind-boggling performance in the 2019 World Cup.

Starc proved to be the game-changer for his side with his toe-breaking yorkers. The Man of the Tournament of ICC World Cup 2015 took 27 wickets to break the record of Glenn McGrath’s all-time record of the highest wickets in a single World Cup.

Starc had an economy rate of under 6 runs per over in the 10 matches he played. His best figures of 5/26 came against New Zealand in the group stage.

Though India did not have a successful campaign, India’s opener, Rohit Sharma, performed well under pressure for his team. As Shikhar Dhawan could not play because of an injury, Sharma took the responsibility of the batting unit and emerged as the leading run-scorer of World Cup 2019.

Opening the innings for India, the stylish opener from Mumbai aggregated 648 runs in 9 matches at a blistering average of 81 and strike rate of 98.53. He scored 5 centuries and 1 half-century with his bat which helped him top the run charts. The Hitman even toppled the record of scoring the most centuries in a single edition of the World Cup.
