The 17th season of Apex Legends, Arsenal, is right around the corner. The latest season brings various much-needed changes, including new items and much more. Ballistic's introduction to the roster in the gameplay trailer has been met with much anticipation and excitement. Furthermore, the firing range, ranked playlist, and more are being overhauled for a fresh and fitting infrastructure.

A better look at all the details encompassing the changes associated with the release of the upcoming season has been discussed below in the article.

Changes in Mixtape with the upcoming season 17 of Apex Legends

Besides the major changes which have been discussed in the patch notes, the developers have also announced several changes coming to the LTM playlist, Mixtape. Currently in rotation, TDM, Gun Run, and Control will receive some changes with the latest season of Apex Legends.

Besides visual changes such as the new podium screens and the team's MVPs on the intro podium, a variety of quality-of-life upgrades have been implemented into the Mixtape playlist. These changes incorporate XP bonuses for match completion, penalties for leavers, disabling penalties for unfair matches, and much more.

The Mixtape playlist has been a great addition to the game in the previous season, promoting a more casual and relaxing experience for players. With an upgraded SBMM system, players would be matched with equally skilled opponents for better match-ups and more fun duels.

Numerous changes to the LTMs have been made, and they are discussed in better detail below:

Apex Legends Control changes

The primary change that has been implemented in Control is the weapon evo change. Player-equipped weapons will not automatically transition to a better degree upon reaching a new Rating Tier.

The updated weapon tier will be implemented when the player holsters and re-equips their weapon in any form. Players could simply reload, switch weapons, ride ziplines, or do movement tech to gain access to the upgraded weapon evo.

Furthermore, Olympus: Hammond Labs will replace Barometer for the upcoming season's control game mode.

Apex Legends TDM changes

Team Deathmatch has not received any significant changes besides a mere change in the map rotation. Phase Runner has been swapped in for Skulltown in the upcoming season of Apex Legends.

XP Bonus will also be awarded to players for completion of matches, whether they join a fresh match or a match in progress.

Apex Legends Gun Run changes

The weapon track has been updated for new care-package weapons in the playlist. Players will be rewarded with a hefty bonus XP for the last knife kill they achieve in the game, providing an additional incentive not to abandon games and grind for the win.

The overall goal of these changes was to improve players' experience in the casual game modes. Players can experience these changes firsthand, with the update for Season 17 dropping on May 9, 2023, at 10:00 am PT/ 1:00 am EST/ 10:30 pm IST.
