Dawn of Ragnarok is the third major expansion of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. The expansion builds upon the mythological story of the base game and expands on the Norse mythological interpretation. It follows Havi as he travels to Svartalfheim in search of his son Baldr and faces off against the fire giant Surtr.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla offers amazing weapons, and the Dawn of Ragnarok DLC is no exception. The expansion introduces a new type of weapon to the series, called the Atgeir, as well as introducing some excellent mythical weapons and armor sets. Let’s discuss the five best weapons in Valhalla from the expansion.

What are the 5 best weapons in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Dawn of Ragnarok

The Atgeir is the latest weapon type introduced in Dawn of Ragnarok. The two-handed weapon has a blade at the end and is known for dealing heavy damage at a slower speed. It is quite a useful weapon against a group of enemies.

With that being said, let’s look at the 5 best weapons in the Assassin's Creed expansion.

5) Fiery Warsong

Atgeir - Two-handed weapon

The Fiery Warsong is one of the best two-handed weapons introduced in Dawn of Ragnarok. The Atgeir has quite a high attack and stun damage, which increases as the weapon is upgraded as well as improved to Divine quality. The Fiery Warsong gets set to fire and deals fire damage when surrounded by 3 or more enemies.

The Fiery Warsong is collected by defeating the three of Sinmara’s chosen, who serve as the zealots of the expansion. The three Sinmara’s Chosen are found in the three regions of Svartalfheim, and defeating them will drop a piece of the Atgeir. After defeating all three, Havi can take the pieces to any blacksmith and get them assembled.

4) Thorgrim’s Dying Breath

Atgeir - Two-handed weapon

Thorgrim’s Dying Breath is another new Atgeir in Dawn of Ragnarok. While the Fiery Warsong’s fire damage is quite useful, it’s ineffective against Muspel enemies. As such, Thorgrim’s Dying Breath is a better Atgeir against the Muspels as it can knock enemies to the ground with a heavy critical strike, allowing Havi to perform a stun attack and, most of the time, killing the enemy.

Thorgrim’s Dying Breath can be found in the Gapihus area, which is the central section of the Svaladal region, at the intersection of the two main rivers. The village here is partially submerged underwater. Players need to find the key and unlock the doors to find and loot Thorgrim’s Dying Breath.

3) Fenrir’s Incisor

Dagger - One-handed weapon

Fenrir Incisor is the latest dagger introduced in Dawn of Ragnarok. The dagger is perfect for a speed-based attack build, and its fast attacking speed certainly deals quite a bit of damage continuously. Using this dagger also reduces the stamina costs by 20% so it is quite useful as an off-hand weapon.

The Fenrir’s Incisor can be found in the Gimstraus region of the Vangrinn region, which is at the bottom-left side of the map. Players need to solve a puzzle to find and loot the weapon. All in all, Fenrir’s Incisor is one of the best weapons introduced in Dawn of Ragnarok.

2) Aesir Eye

Hunter Bow - Ranged weapon

The Aesir Eye is a new hunter bow introduced in Dawn of Ragnarok. The unique ability of this bow lets players earn adrenaline back after a charged headshot. This means it can be paired with other abilities such as the Knockback arrow, and as long as the shots are charged headshots, the combination can be spammed indefinitely.

The Bow is earned from the Valkyre arena, where players fight other enemies with difficulty modifiers. Aesir Eye is undoubtedly the best bow in Dawn of Ragnarok.

1) Jotnar Cleaver

Bearded Axe - One-handed weapon

The Jotnar Cleaver is a new bearded axe in Dawn of Ragnarok. The weapon does require a bit of work to get but is quite useful against enemies. The weapon has a 50% chance to refill adrenaline for every critical hit. Pairing it with Riposte ability pushes it to be one of the best weapons in the game.
