Can you play XDefiant on PS4 and Xbox One?

Fans might be disappointed to know they cannot play XDefiant on PS4 and Xbox One. In the early days of its development, Ubisoft stated that the shooter would be available on last- and current-generation consoles. However, the plan was later scrapped, and it was decided the title would be available only on current-generation consoles and on PCs via Ubisoft Connect.

Hence, if you want to play the shooter and are still using a PS4 or Xbox One, the option is unfortunately not available.

What are the platforms you can currently play XDefiant on?

As mentioned, you can play XDefiant on current-gen consoles and PCs. In the former's case, you can play it on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. As for PC, you can play it via Ubisoft Connect. Developers took this approach to ensure all platforms have a consistent and similar XDF experience.

Since several compromises had to be made to get XDefiant running on a PS4 or Xbox One, the developers scrapped that plan for last-generation systems altogether and decided to focus only on the newer hardware for a competitive gaming experience. Hence, PS4 or Xbox One owners will be compelled to upgrade to the latest consoles or play the game on a Windows PC.
