A work outfit in the Sims 4 brings about a persistent issue where it doesn't get updated even after definitive changes occur in the Sims' work life. To change work outfit in The Sims 4 via cheats, players need to enable them first. To do this, hit certain hotkeys, which vary depending on the platforms, to open up the cheat console.

To open the cheat console on PC: Press Ctrl + Shift + C
To open the cheat console on Xbox: Press all four bumpers together simultaneously
To open the cheat console on PS: Press all four bumpers together simultaneously
To open the cheat console on Mac: Press Command + Shift + C

After the cheat console pops up on the top right-hand corner of the game, players can input the command testingcheats true and press enter. This will enable cheats for your platform.

Now open up the cheat console and type the following command sims.modify_career_outfit_in_cas and press the enter key. As the CAS or Create-A-Sim screen opens up you will now be able to pick the work outfit of your choice from the assortment of clothing options offered by the Sims 4.

Mods for The Sims 4 provide new features and functionalities to the game and one such mod called Plan Career Outfit allows you to change your job outfit. Once installed, open the dresser in The Sims 4 where you will be taken to the Create-A-Sim option. Here choose and change your work outfit.

Also, keep within the assigned category to prevent making changes to regular clothes. Players should bear in mind that changing outfits will not hinder their career growth. Apart from their attire, their lifestyles would stay unchanged.
