Wuthering Waves is the newest ARPG in the market that is making quite a wave among fans of the genre. Although the game had quite a strong start at the beginning, with each passing moment more players have come up with various complaints about the game and questioning if it’s even worth playing.
There are many similarities between Wuthering Waves and Genshin Impact, but the title still manages to retain some ounces of individuality in this overly saturated genre, thanks to the combat system, which, according to some, is the only reason why the game is still relevant among players.
On the official Wuthering Waves subreddit, a user named Persona2181 made a post claiming that the game is very shallow, and the combat is the only reason why they still consider playing it. They wrote:
“Combat alone wants me to stay with WW”

In the post, Persona2182 wrote that they feel the story of Wuthering Waves is very boring and uneventful. The open-world aspect is also not at par with other popular titles in the genre and the performance and music are not good. But they are still playing the game because they feel the combat is very intuitive and fun.

Other ushers also jumped in on the thread. A player named echidnachama questioned the development of the game and asked why the music in the game was so sub-optimal. However, M4verickPL praised the game for its fluid traversal system, owing to the grappling Hook and freestyle movements it offers.

In the end, Wuthering Waves is yet another anime-style ARPG that incorporates rigorous gacha mechanics to make the players use real-world money for buying and acquiring characters and heroes. If you are a fan of this genre of games, there’s a good chance that you will also enjoy Wuthering Waves.
