Vitality clinches the CS:GO Paris Major 2023, and dupreeh becomes the most decorated CS:GO Major winner
Vitality had already dominated the Legends Stage by going 3-0 against all of their opponents, and they proceeded to win the rest of their matches in each of the finals during the Champions Stage.
On the other hand, GamerLegion barely made it through the Challengers Stage and was down in a match during the Legends Stage. Their opponents, Monte, were also in exceptional form and were not easy to defeat.
The odds were still in favor of Vitality because of their extraordinary form, with a lineup comprising apEX, ZywOo, and dupreeh.
Vitality vs GamerLegion
During the first match of the CS:GO Paris Major, Vitality had clearly annihilated GamerLegion, as the French team won 16-6 against the German team. This brought them a step closer to establishing their name in gaming history.
During the second and deciding match, GamerLegion was solely focused on winning the game and bringing it to the final decider on the map of Inferno.
The first half was led 10-5 in favor of GamerLegion on the Counter-Terrorist side on Nuke, and there was a high chance that the match would proceed to Inferno.
Fans then witnessed an exceptional comeback during the second half, where Vitality won rounds, closing the scoreline at 11-13. They could not be stopped after this and went on to win five consecutive rounds and conclude the scoreline at 16-13 during the CS:GO Paris Major.
dupreeh becomes the most decorated player of CS:GO
The first Major was hosted a decade ago during Winter in DreamHack. The tournament was relatively small compared to the current day, but it marked the beginning of an era.
With a total of five Major Championships, dupreeh has become the most decorated player in the history of the game. During Astralis' golden era from 2018 to 2019, he played a pivotal role in securing three of those Major Championships. Additionally, he claimed another Major title in the ELEAGUE Major Atlanta 2017. He is also the only player to qualify for each of the 19 CS:GO Major tournaments.
