After the release of Operation Daybreak, new players as well as veterans are looking for ways to get more FPS in Rainbow Six Siege X. While the previously popular competitive settings work as intended in Siege X as well, the addition of a new VRAM limit setting under the Graphics tab made players wonder how it works.
Rainbow Six Siege X uses DirectX12 API at its core, which made the controversial move of replacing the popular Vulkan API.
Aiming to take the game forward for ten additional years, the dev team at Ubisoft decided to make DX12 the primary API, as it lays the foundation for an updated game engine that has the capability to last that long.
This article will shed some light on how players can get more FPS in Rainbow Six Siege X and attain a competitive advantage by altering their graphics settings.

Competitive settings for best FPS in Rainbow Six Siege X
With the new graphical changes in Operation Daybreak, texture details of the environment are quite high compared to the previous version of R6. Even at the lowest texture settings, the visual fidelity is quite high and the new lighting creates various new bright and dark corners in the map.
Coming down to the three most popular resolutions and how much VRAM your settings can take up, the game diligently informs you what sort of VRAM usage you can expect.

In our testing, this VRAM usage varies with a small delta of 1GB at all resolutions, especially at high Texture quality settings. However, with our competitive settings, this delta decreases. Let us go over these competitive settings in Rainbow Six Siege X.
*The Texture VRAM Limit is the newest graphics setting that came with Rainbow Six Siege X's release. In our benchmarks, we have found that the Low option uses more CPU and offers a higher average FPS during general gameplay. On the contrary, the Maximum option uses less CPU and offers lower average FPS. These tests were done with Resizable Bar enabled and at a competitive 1080p 240hz testing environment.

If players have spare FPS in Rainbow Six Siege X, which surpases their display's refresh rate, then cranking up Texture Quality to High and Texture Filtering to Anisotropic 4x is recommended. This improves the visual fidelity and makes the make look that much nicer.
Options like Bloom, VFX, and any form of Upscaling are strongly advised to be turned off. The only valid exception would be at 2160p resolution, where you are failing to meet your display refresh rate.
That said, for 1080p and 1440p users, turning Anti-Aliasing off and using raw rasterization helps you get the best FPS in Rainbow Six Siege X. It also helps avoid falling into disadvantageous situations during intensive gunfights and holding tight angles.
