In this title, you unlock a new vehicle for every 100 coins you earn in-game. Whenever you earn 100 coins, you will automatically get a pop-up notification saying that you have unlocked a new vehicle.

Now, you must be wondering how to earn more coins while playing various game modes. Given below are the many ways to do so:

Winning races: Winning races is the most surefire way to earn coins in the game. Whenever you finish a race, you earn up to 20 coins. However, remember that you can lose them if other players hit you with certain items or you ram your vehicle into obstacles.
Free roaming: When you roam the open world map, you get the option to collect coin stacks. Moreover, you can also collect dropped coins from other players by hitting them with items.
Finding “?” boxes: In this game's free roam mode, you can collect hidden boxes with a “?” symbol. These mysterious bosses give you extra coins whenever you press the L button.
Using the coin item: While you will find coins in race tracks and the free roam mode, you will also come across certain special coin items that give you two coins instead of just one. They will also increase your speed, depending on how many coins you have.
Using a coin shell: The coin shell is a special item that you throw at other players. When they are hit with it, they will leave behind a trail of coins that’s all yours to collect.
